Jeff Wiggins

Jeff Wiggins has been a dedicated member of the United Steelworkers (USW) since 1983, beginning his career with USW Local 9085, which later merged into USW Local 9447. Over his decades of service, he has held numerous leadership roles, including Vice President in 2000 and President of Local 9447 in 2008. He also served as the Local's Political Director and Rapid Response Coordinator for 20 years.
Jeff completed the USW Leadership Program in 1996 and has since completed "Train the Trainer" certification. His passion for building union power led him to serve as an organizer for USW District 8.
In 1996, Jeff was elected to the Executive Board of the Kentucky State AFL-CIO, representing USW District 8. He has also served as a longtime Zone Coordinator for the federation’s Labor-to-Labor programs. His contributions to the labor movement have been recognized with the Lewis Hicks Award from the Kentucky State AFL-CIO.
Jeff has served the Western Kentucky Area Labor Council in several roles, including Trustee, Political Director, and President, to which he was elected in 2000. In 2014, he was honored with the W.C. Young Lifetime Achievement Award, joining past recipients including his own parents.
Jeff was appointed Secretary-Treasurer of the Kentucky State AFL-CIO by the Executive Board in 2016 and was subsequently elected to full four-year terms in 2019 and 2023.
In addition to his labor leadership, Jeff serves as Vice President of the W.B. Sanders House and Jackson House, positions he has held since 1996. He also served on the Board of Prevent Child Abuse Kentucky from 2020 to 2024.
