A trio of Democrats earned the state AFL-CIO nod in yesterday's COPE meeting.
They are:
SD 22 – Helen Bukulmez (D) – Fayette (part), Jessamine, Garrard, Mercer and Washington Counties
HD 89 – Mae Suramek (D) – Madison (part), Jackson and Laurel (part) Counties
HD 51 - Eddie Rogers (D) – Taylor and Adair Counties
The candidates were unanimously endorsed for special elections set for Nov. 2.
More information about Bukulmez, Suramek and Rogers will follow, according to Bill Londrigan, state AFL-CIO president.
