EDITOR'S NOTE: Bill Londrigan has announced that he will not seek another term as president of the Kentucky State AFL-CIO. We are receiving notes from well-wishers including U.S. Rep. Morgan McGarvey, D-Louisville. In Washington, McGarvey has continued the strong support for organized labor he showed in the state senate.

From Rep. McGarvey:Kentucky’s workers are better off because of Bill Londrigan’s 24 years of service as President of the Kentucky State AFL-CIO. Bill has been a friend for more than 20 years, and, during that time, he has always fought hard for better wages, safer working conditions, and better benefits for Kentucky’s workers and middle class. Bill has been a tireless champion of the modern labor movement, constantly battling corporate lobbyists in the halls of power guy on behalf of the working amen and women of our state. Kentucky is better because of Bill’s work and, while I highly doubt he ever completely retires, I thank him for his decades of dedication and wish him happiness and success in his next chapter.
