EDITOR'S NOTE: Several of our union brothers and sisters are belong to county Democratic party committes or are planning to join a committee. Thus, we are publishing this letter from Ben Self, state Democratic party chair.

Dear County Party Leaders:

In conversations with the Governor’s office and our State Central Bylaws Committee, along with several county party chairs, it seems everyone is in near unanimous agreement that we should minimize gatherings in our communities with the coronavirus spreading. Thus, we are postponing the Precinct Conventions (previously scheduled for March 21) and the County/LD Conventions (previously scheduled for April 18) statewide. We will stay in communication when updated timing is determined - we cannot make a guess when that will be at this time.

This change will be officially approved at our State Central meeting (via conference call) this Saturday, but wanted to get the news to you ahead of time for your planning purposes.

We recommend that any county party gatherings, such as meetings, are either rescheduled to a later date or done via teleconference. If you would like to use the Kentucky Democratic Party’s conference line or webinar software (Zoom), please coordinate with Kenny Fogle (kennyfogle@kydemocrats.org).

Your health is our highest concern. Thank you all for all doing your part in keeping our communities safe.

Regards,

Ben
