Defending Bluegrass Values, a group backed by the DGA, released a new TV ad titled “Risk” that slams Daniel Cameron for privately pledging to "actively support" legislation to repeal the Affordable Care Act, which would eliminate protections for 1.8 million Kentuckians with pre-existing conditions and completely dismantle Medicaid coverage for 600,000 Kentuckians.

NBC previously reported on Cameron’s disastrous health care agenda after his answers to a Northern Kentucky Right to Life questionnaire, where he also promised to restrict access to standard birth control, were revealed.

Cameron’s disastrous health care plan has come under fire in the past for its similarities to former Governor Matt Bevin's plan to rip away health care for 100,000 Kentuckians, but it is now clear he would go even further.

“Under Daniel Cameron, health care for 600,000 Kentuckians and anyone with a pre-existing condition isn’t safe,” said DGA States Press Secretary Emma O’Brien. “If Cameron has it his way, hundreds of thousands of Kentuckians will be stripped of their health care coverage, rural hospitals will be at greater risk of shutting their doors and abandoning their communities, and thousands of health care professionals will lose their jobs. Cameron’s health care plan is dangerous and too extreme for Kentucky.”

VOICEOVER: “Asthma. Cancer. Diabetes. All require medical care that Daniel Cameron would put at risk.

Because Cameron promised Matt Bevin-style cuts to Medicaid and to ‘actively work’ to cut protections for patients with preexisting conditions on private insurance, too.

Letting insurance companies deny coverage for prescription drugs and even pregnancy, threatening 1.8 million Kentuckians with preexisting conditions.

Daniel Cameron is wrong for Kentucky.”
