EDITOR'S NOTE: The Kentucky State AFL-CIO unanimously endorsed Beshear and McGarvey in their elections.

Today is the first day of early voting in Kentucky, and I’m writing to ask you to be sure to get out to vote for my friend Morgan McGarvey to represent Louisville in Congress.

Morgan has spent 10 years in Kentucky’s state senate fighting for working families, and I know he will be a strong partner for Kentucky in Washington. We need representatives in Congress whose top priority is standing up for all of us, not getting into partisan fights. That’s exactly the kind of leader I know Morgan to be.

I’ve always known Morgan to stand up for what he believes in, and to work effectively to pass good legislation that helps Kentuckians. Since I’ve been governor, Morgan and I have worked together on securing Simmons College access to Kentucky Tuition Grant money, getting books into the hands of young kids learning to read, and implementing name, image and likeness legislation to help Kentucky’s NCAA student-athletes.

If you haven’t voted already, I encourage you to take advantage of the three days of early voting. Between the hours of 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. today, tomorrow, and Saturday, you can vote whenever is most convenient for you, at any of eight early voting locations across Jefferson County!

You can find early vote locations by going to www.iwillvote.com and entering your address. Thank you for being a voter, and thank you for supporting Morgan McGarvey for Congress!

Sincerely,

Governor Andy Beshear
