In a fund-raising email, the Kentucky Democratic Party is calling out First District U.S. Rep. James Comer for voting "to strip health care from 235,530 of his own constituents, nearly 1 in 3 people in Western Kentucky who depend on Medicaid."

The email charged that "Trump's disastrous budget bill would devastate our district. Rural hospitals would close, veterans would lose health care, and nearly 38,000 Kentuckians in our district would lose SNAP food assistance. Meanwhile, the wealthiest 1% get $45,000 in annual tax cuts while working families get just $70."

The email jabbed the congressman for choosing  "Trump and billionaires over his own neighbors."

The email promised that "Kentucky Democrats are choosing you" and are "fighting back against these cruel cuts. Lieutenant Governor Coleman is exposing how cuts devastate rural women. Governor Beshear is expanding health care access with new mobile clinics for Appalachian communities. Congressman McGarvey warns 35 rural hospitals could close, costing 20,000 jobs, while introducing legislation to cut drug costs for Kentucky seniors."

In a postscript, the email said "these aren't just numbers, they're our neighbors and family members. While Kentucky Republicans choose tax breaks for billionaires, Kentucky Democrats choose you."

A "P.P.S" invited people to "see exactly how these cuts will hurt your county and congressional district, and share these graphics with your friends here."
