Frankfort, KY— Proving there is no bar too low for Andy to stoop, the Kentucky congressman has gone from attacking his opponent for out-of-state fundraising to encouraging donors to join him for a “California weekend” on behalf of his leadership PAC.
“I suppose we shouldn’t be surprised that a guy who supported a massive giveaway to the super-wealthy and big corporations would be rubbing elbows with the super rich in Beverly Hills,” said Marisa McNee, spokesperson for the Kentucky Democratic Party. “Andy spent most of 2018 dodging the issues and instead attacking his opponent for raising money in California. This would all be comical if it weren’t so hypocritical and sad. Kentuckians deserve better.”
The weekend, which costs a minimum of $2,000 for supporters to attend, will take place at the posh Peninsula Hotel in Beverly Hills, April 5th - 8th. The Peninsula Hotel is known for providing its guests with a “taste of Hollywood glamour” and boasts of celebrity guests in “beautiful gowns that cost $20,000 to $30,000.” Events held at the hotel provide for “high-profile Hollywood style” and “only in California” experiences.
“Hardworking Kentuckians want to know more about Andy’s terrible record of voting to raise health insurance costs for middle-class families, supporting predatory lending, and backing the GOP tax scam, but I guess instead we should be asking if he plans to spend his weekend on the terrace with the fancy fountain or in the roof garden pool for one of those “only in California” experiences provided by the hotel,” said McNee.
