Join Kentucky unemployed workers, essential workers, policy experts, and lawmakers as we discuss the implications of refusing to extend the $600 COVID-relief unemployment insurance and provide adequate hazard pay and protection for essential workers.

Rather than negotiating a stimulus package that prioritizes the wellbeing of people in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, Senator McConnell adjourned the Senate after the $600 federal unemployment supplement expired on July 31st. Now Senators have gone home to vacation and there is no solution in sight... Workers, families, small businesses, and communities desperately need the Senate to act in our interests.

The program is hosted by Unemployed Action, Center for Popular Democracy, Kentucky Equal Justice Center, Kentucky Center for Economic Policy, the Kentucky State AFL-CIO and the Kentucky State Building and Construction Trades Council.
