I would like to extend my best wishes on behalf of our affiliates and members across Kentucky for a safe and enjoyable Labor Day weekend.
I am sure that I don’t have to write any expansive recounting of the significance of Labor Day to you our stalwart and hardworking representatives of Kentucky’s hardworking men and women. Just know that your efforts and concerns for the well-being of our members is greatly appreciated by your Kentucky State AFL-CIO Officers and Executive Board members!
While Labor Day marks the end of summer it also signifies a new focus and renewed energy and support for organized labor across America. As AFL-CIO President Liz Shuler remarked this morning, let’s take advantage of this moment and expand our ranks and build stronger unions that will transform our nation. Remember this year’s Labor Day theme: “It’s Better In A Union!”
