Political speeches before a rowdy crowd will return at the 141st Fancy Farm picnic Saturday after being canceled last year by the COVID-19 pandemic — but they are certainly expected to look different than usual.
The annual event at St. Jerome Catholic Church in Graves County usually involves a few hundred Democratic and Republican supporters cramming together on opposing sides of an outdoor shelter to loudly cheer (and heckle) elected officials and politicians.
The resurgence of COVID-19 and other factors will alter those dynamics, however.
