People in areas of "high" or "substantial" COVID-19 spread should wear masks in indoor public places regardless of vaccination status, according to new federal guidance, which applies to all but 5 of Kentucky's 120 counties.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention considers substantial transmission, — orange areas — to be 50 to 100 new cases per 100,000 people over a seven-day period, and high transmission — red areas — to be 100 or more per 100,000 people over seven days.
