From The Louisville Courier-Journal: JCPS, Oldham, Bullitt closed Thursday due to teacher 'sickouts'

Kentucky's largest school district will close again, as a substantial number of its teachers dig in their heels in protest — a work stoppage some say could drag into the remaining days of the 2019 legislative session.
Jefferson County Public Schools announced late Wednesday night that it was forced to shutdown because it didn't have enough substitutes to cover teacher absences.
The announcement marks the second day in a row — and the third time in a week — that a teacher "sickout" closed the district's 156 schools.
