While Kentucky's five GOP congressmen seem allergic to town halls, Rep. Morgan McGarvey, the state's sole Democrat on Capitol Hill, posted on X, formerly Twitter:

"THIS SATURDAY: I'll be at the Café LOUIE Town Hall at the Parkland Library! Come by from 9:00 - 11:00 to ask your questions and join our conversation."

McGarvey represents the Third District, which includes most of Louisville Metro.

“This seat belongs to Louisville and I cherish every opportunity to hear directly from my neighbors about how I can best serve them in Congress, from fighting against the $880 billion cut to Medicaid that Republicans are pushing for to reining in Elon Musk and his illegal assault on federal agencies that our community depend on like the Department of Education," the lawmaker said in a statement for the Kentucky State AFL-CIO.

Pack a union card? You might want to drop by and thank McGarvey for his 100 percent "lifetime" ranking on the AFL-CIO's Legislative Scorecard. It rates lawmakers "on issues important to working families, including strengthening Social Security and Medicare, freedom to join a union, improving workplace safety and more."

Think there's not much difference between Democrats and Republicans on labor issues? All together, Kentucky Republican Reps. Barr, Comer, Guthrie, Massie and Rogers average 12.4 percent "lifetime." When I taught history in a community college, 60 was passing in my classes.
