A group of volunteers from Chicago Union of Elevator Constructors Local 2 brought in a tractor trailer load of toys and relief supplies Tuesday for tornado victims in Bremen, the small Muhlenberg County community devastated by the deadly Dec. 10 twister.

A box truck and a pickup towing a trailer also arrived at a Warehouse in South Carrollton, from which the supplies will be dispersed. Helping unload the trucks were volunteers from Elevator Constructors locals in Louisville, Atlanta and St. Louis; Jerald Adkins and Ellen Suetholz, both from Working Strategies 2 in Frankfort; Kentucky State AFL-CIO Secretary-Treasurer Jeff Wiggins and Wiggins's son, Aaron Thorne, a member of IAMAW Local 1720.

Volunteers from Local 2 included Trustee Mike Christophersen and Business Representative Mike Mintle. Volunteering from St. Louis Local 3 were Business Manager Costel Zamfir, Business Representative Matt Fernandez, and from Louisville Local 20, Vernon Soeder, business manager. Representing the IUEC international were a trio of national organizers: Bobby Capuani, Kevin Moody and Steve Simpson.
