Kentucky State AFL-CIO President Dustin Reinstedler will join 11 other panelists for Friday evening's "Democratic 2025 Session Debrief & Town Hall" set for 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Louisville's duPont Manual High School, 120 W. Lee St.
"I'm even more honored that the Louisville Democratic Caucus reached out to me and said, 'We think the people deserve to know what happened not only to organized labor, but also to all working people-we think you would be a good voice to represent that.'"
Reinstedler and Tony Curtis, Metropolitan Housing Coalition executive director, will be the only non-legislators on the panel.
"Literally everyone is invited," Reinstedler said. "Your party affiliation doesn't matter. I hope Republicans do show up."
The panel will "discuss several significant bills that passed this session," said an online posting promoting the town hall. "House and Senate members will be joined by community experts to take a deeper dive into bills focused on housing and labor."
Lawmakers scheduled to attend include Reps. Pamela Stevenson, Democratic floor leader; Al Gentry, caucus chair; Tina Bojanowski, Rachel Roarx, Mary Lou Marzian, Sarah Stalker and Joshua Watkins, plus Sens. Cassie Chambers Armstrong, Keturah Herron and David Yates.
Roz Welch will be the moderator.
"Working class issues will be a large part of the evening's discussion," Reinstedler said.
The "event is free and open to the entire community, no matter your political affiliation," the posting also said. But registration is required for attendance. Click here to register.
