Thousands of Detroit casino workers strike over pay, benefits

Casino workers took to picket lines on Tuesday outside each of Detroit’s three casinos after going on strike following months of failed negotiations for a new union contract. This is the latest labor action to hit Southeast Michigan, with thousands of United Auto Workers (UAW) on strike for over a month at Blue Cross Blue Shield, as well as General Motors, Stellantis and Ford plants. The striking casino workers declared, “No contract, no peace!” during the noon hour as motorists honked their horns in solidarity. “Our wages have not kept up with the pace of inflation,” said Nia Winston, UNITE HERE Local 24 president.
We Energies employees vote to reject contract offer; threatening strike

We Energies employees represented by IBEW Local 2150 have reportedly overwhelmingly rejected the most recent contract offer by the company, and are now threatening to strike. The workers have been without a contract since August 16th, and recently voted 81% in favor of rejecting We Energies’ latest offer. 86% of union workers voted to authorize a strike pending a response from We Energies. IBEW Local 2150 represents about 5,500 employees across Wisconsin.
40 workers on strike at Milk-Bone plant in Buffalo

Forty workers at Milk-Bone's plant in Buffalo are on strike, after rejecting a tentative agreement. The 40 maintenance and repair workers are represented by the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Lodge 330. They are among 277 employees at the plant. Production at the Urban Street plant continues, according to Ohio-based J.M. Smucker, which owns Milk-Bone. The workers went on strike early Monday after overwhelmingly rejecting a tentative three-year deal, said Rick Dahn, a business representative with Machinists District 65.
Hollywood Unions Call For Immediate Resumption Of SAG-AFTRA Talks

SAG-AFTRA members are expected to return to the picket lines Monday to continue striking against the Hollywood Studios amid calls from union president Fran Drescher and union leaders for negotiations to resume "immediately." Drescher slammed the major studios Friday for suspending contract talks with striking actors and in a joint statement with union leaders demanded negotiations resume in good faith to address performers' specific needs. The joint statement came from the Writers Guild of America's West and East branches, the Directors Guild of America, the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, the American Federation of Musicians, the Teamsters and Hollywood Basic Crafts.
El Paso Central Labor Union and community groups rally in support of striking autoworkers

The El Paso Central Labor Union and community groups showed their support for striking UAW Workers at a local dealership on Tuesday. Labor, and community group members passed out fliers at the Shamaley Ford car dealership on West Gateway Boulevard in east El Paso. Local activists are supporting more than 20,000 autoworkers who have been striking against the big three auto companies-- Ford, General Motors and Stellantis (formerly Chrysler)-- since September 15, for their refusal to negotiate with 150,000 workers to provide better pay and benefits.
