Tens of thousands of Las Vegas hotel workers set a deadline Thursday for a sweeping strike, threatening major disruptions to the city’s economic backbone that could coincide with the Strip’s inaugural Formula 1 races later this month. The Culinary Workers Union said about 35,000 members whose contracts expired earlier this year are ready and willing to walk off the job at 18 casinos if deals aren’t reached by Nov. 10 with casino giants MGM Resorts International, Caesars Entertainment and Wynn Resorts.
SAG-AFTRA Negotiations Set to Continue Into Weekend After Studios Deliver Latest Offer

SAG-AFTRA and Hollywood studios will be working into the weekend in an attempt to reach a new three-year contract deal after the companies delivered their latest offer to the union on Friday. Both sides met on Friday as the negotiations continue over a deal that could end the 113-day actors’ strike, which has become the longest TV/theatrical strike in the union’s history. One studio-side source said the meeting between the two parties seemed to go well, and that the ball is now in SAG-AFTRA’s court.
Hundreds of workers at AC Electric go on strike amid contract negotiations

The union representing hundreds of workers for AC Electric in New Jersey says they have been unable to reach a contract agreement with the company and are now on strike. The strike officially began at 12:01 a.m. on Sunday. Officials from AC Electric say the most recent contract expired on Thursday and at that time, they presented what they described as their 'best and final offer.' But officials with the union, IBEW Local 210, say that offer is unacceptable.
UAW workers at Mobis North America approve strike authorization

United Auto Workers members who work at Mobis North America have voted to authorize a strike against the company, according to local labor leaders. Workers at the plant, which supplies completed chassis modules to Jeep's Toledo Assembly Complex, voted overwhelmingly -- 99.7% - in favor of the strike authorization, according to UAW Local 12 Mobis Chairman Jeremy Navarre.
Southwest Florida Symphony musicians OK possible strike over pay, union contract

The musicians' union voted unanimously Sept. 30 to authorize the potential strike, said American Federation of Musicians negotiator Adam De Sorgo. They'd hoped the vote would lead to more progress on negotiations. "The musicians waited to reveal the authorization in hopes that more productive discussions of our issues during subsequent negotiations would take place," De Sorgo said. "But they did not."
