Just in time for Monday’s Golden Globe nominations, the Beverly Hilton has reached a tentative agreement with the hotel union Unite Here Local 11. The union announced the provisional deal, which makes the historic property the first Beverly Hills location to reach a 2023 agreement with the powerful Southern California and Arizona union, on Friday evening.

After five months of on-and-off strikes by Southern California hotel workers, there are signs of progress toward a resolution. On Friday, Unite Here Local 11 announced it had reached a tentative contract agreement with the Beverly Hilton covering more than 500 unionized workers. The union struck deals Saturday with two other properties managed by Hilton: for some 300 workers at the Waldorf Astoria in Beverly Hills, and about 800 workers at the Hilton Anaheim.
Nurses at University Medical Center vote to unionize, a Louisiana first

LCMC Health’s University Medical Center nurses voted to join National Nurses United, the largest U.S. union for registered nurses, after a three-day vote that ended Saturday night. The union will be Louisiana’s first among health care workers. It is also one of the state's largest, with 598 eligible members. More than 90% of eligible nurses voted in the election. Of those who voted, 82% voted in favor of the union, according to National Nurses United.
Madison-based TruStage, union reach tentative labor contract agreement

Madison-based insurance company TruStage and its union have reached a tentative labor contract agreement after nearly two years of contentious negotiations that led to a weekslong strike by the union last spring. The old contract with the Office and Professional Employees International Union Local 39, which represents 450 TruStage employees, expired in February 2022. TruStage, formerly known as CUNA Mutual Group, provides financial services to thousands of cooperatives, credit unions and other customers around the world. The business has roughly 4,200 employees, with approximately 1,700 in the Madison area.

Edward Jones Host 16th annual AFL CIO Toy Drive

Edward Jones held their AFL CIO toy drive today during their Holiday Open House allowing participants an opportunity to help children who are less fortunate during this time of the year. The toy drive included more than 300 participants who from all over the St. Joseph area who were able to make donations. AFL CIO was extremely grateful they got the chance to host this toy drive for the 16th year in a row.
