The Las Vegas Culinary Union announced "tentative agreements" reached between Mirage/Hard Rock and Tropicana Wednesday. "The Culinary Union is pleased to announce a tentative agreement toward a new 5-year best contract ever was just reached with The Mirage for over 1,700 hospitality workers," the leadership said in a social media post.

Watsonville Community Hospital nurses ratify new contract

Registered nurses at Watsonville Community Hospital (WCH) in Watsonville, Calif., voted overwhelmingly in favor of ratifying a new three-year contract today, announced California Nurses Association/National Nurses United (CNA/NNU). The contract – which includes protections to improve patient safety and nurse retention – is the first collective bargaining agreement since WCH became a public-sector employer following the 2021 bankruptcy fight.

Norristown elementary students can submit art and essays for prizes this holiday season

IBEW Local 98 and the Philadelphia Building and Construction Trades Council are partnering with the Ebenezer Foundation and Elmwood Park Zoo to bring joy to many Norristown-area elementary school children this holiday season. The partner organizations are sponsoring a “Holiday Giveaway Contest” in which students can submit original works of art and written essays to win a new bike or toy just in time for the winter holidays. Children from Kindergarten through Second Grade will be able to submit an original piece of art. Children in Grades Three through Six can submit a brief, original essay on “What they love most about Norristown?”
