UAW members made history today. We won a commitment from General Motors that will change the future of the auto industry.

GM will include electric vehicle battery production work in the UAW’s national master agreement with the company.

This is a historic step forward. It guarantees that the transition to electric vehicles at GM will be a just transition that brings good union jobs to communities across America.

GM took this step just minutes before UAW President Shawn Fain’s latest Facebook Live. It is a clear signthat our Stand Up Strike is working:

  • We are putting pressure on all three automakers at once and all three of them are moving.
  • Click here for details on the progress we’ve made in negotiations with the Big Three.

By standing up and standing together, we will win a better future for every autoworker in America.

In Solidarity,

The UAW Organizing Team
