Good morning! Just a quick note about the new unemployment processes that started November 4th (ID.me).
ID.me is an identity program that Kentucky Unemployment is now using to protect against fraudulent claims. All claimants have to be registered through ID.me before they can access their unemployment account to file new claims, request payments, etc…Unfortunately, this new program has prevented me from looking at their account until they get registered in ID.me. I am not able to assist them get logged into ID.me. From my understanding at this point, the only folks who can help them get registered in ID.me are folks from ID.me which should be able to be reached from their website ID.me. I am sorry this has been such difficult process for your members and hope that this new security log on procedures will finally fix all of the fraud problems that they have encountered over the last 2 years. When an unemployment claimant calls me, I will need to know their email address and ID.me password before I am able to try and assist them. A lot of these folks are saving the password in their phones and try to guess what the password is. I need for them to have the password written down and know exactly what it is so that I don’t waste a bunch of time trying to figure out the password. I also don’t think folks at Kentucky Unemployment can help them got logged in to ID.me (i ams still verifying that this is an accurate statement).
