All-MAGA-all-the-time Republican Congressman Brandon Williams of New York state got beat a week ago Tuesday.
But he might not be out a job for long. He supposedly has made the short list of candidates in the running to become the president-elect's newest anti-labor labor secretary.
Few members of Congress have been more loyal to Donald Trump than the hard-right Williams. Not coincidentally, the Texas-born transplant also has been among the most anti-union lawmakers in Congress.
Williams was elected to represent the central New York 22nd District two years ago. He has voted the union position on important legislation only 10 percent of the time, according to the AFL-CIO.
The New York State AFL-CIO endorsed his winning challenger, Democratic state Sen. John Mannion. Trump rewarded Williams' fealty, posting on Truth Social, "Brandon Williams has my Complete and Total Endorsement!”
Williams would be seem a likely choice for Trump, one of the most anti-union presidents ever. Click here, here, here, and here
But even if Trump taps somebody else, you can bet he or she will be 45's, and soon-to-be 47's, eager helper in union-busting and will fall right in with his parade of anti-labor labor secretaries from his first administration.
Stay tuned.
