The Workers First Caravan that was set for June 3 in Louisville has been rescheduled for next Wednesday, June 17, also in Louisville.
The caravan will start at 3 p.m. at Teamsters Local 89 hall, 3813 Taylor Blvd., and proceed downtown to Mitch McConnell's office. Participants are urged to arrive in plenty of time for the caravan to get organized.
"Please encourage folks to attend in their vehicles and arrive by 3:00 p.m.," said Bill Londrigan, Kentucky State AFL-CIO president. "Once at Local 89, participants will receive details of the planned route and given placards for their vehicles. Since everyone will be in their own vehicles, they will be socially distanced for the entire event."
Added Londrigan: "Please spread the word and plan on having your union show up for this national effort to encourage the senate and McConnell to take up and vote on the Heroes Act."
