David Yates is the new president of the Paducah-based Western Kentucky AFL-CIO Area Council.
A member of Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 184, he will succeed Council President Kyle Henderson, who has been Local 184 business manager. He is leaving that post to take a position with UA International.
Other officers elected for two-year terms at the June council meeting are:
– Vice president, Gary Wilson, USW 550
- Secretary-treasurer, Dustin Owens, IBEW 816
-Recording secretary, Howard "Bubba" Dawes, IAMAW retiree
- COPE Director, Jim Key, USW 550
– Trustees: Matt Crawford, Ironworkers 782; Key; Wilson; Chad Rennison, 816; and Barry Davis, 184.
