Matt Bevin is also demanding wealthy donors help pay off his own personal debt to get a photo with the president.

Frankfort, KY — Today, the Kentucky Democratic Party is filing a campaign finance complaint with the Kentucky Registry of Election Finance (KREF) after uncovering a letter that Governor Matt Bevin sent to solicit campaign donations, which shows he is engaging in a scheme to circumvent campaign finance limits.

Attorney General Andy Beshear is responding to the front-page news in the Lexington Herald-Leader that the Bevin Administration is trying to take away money from Harlan County public schools to refund Revelation Energy -- which owns Blackjewel. In particular, Revelation owes delinquent taxes and the Blackjewel coal miners have still not been paid.

“But when they are not getting paid to stop work, it is remarkable nobody seems to be that interested, they don’t care quite as much.”

Frankfort, KY-- Governor Matt Bevin made the rounds on talk radio this morning and continued his attacks on Kentucky’s educators.

After a judge raised serious questions yesterday about Matt Bevin’s administration’s ruling that over 1,000 Kentucky teachers broke the law, the toxic GOP civil war that the governor started with his own lieutenant governor dominated the news across Kentucky.

During the last legislative session, educators across the state took action to defend public schools and Kentucky public school students. During his term as governor, Bevin has taken every opportunity to vilify and persecute educators for their advocacy and activism. He called educators thugs and accused them of being responsible for shootings, drug use and sexual assault of children.
